Nestled in the heart of Frankfort, MI, Bella’s Café is much more than your typical coffee spot. This charming establishment effortlessly blends the warmth of a neighborhood coffee shop with the cozy allure of a bookstore and the convenience of a gift and internet café. From the moment you step through its doors at 313 Main St, you’re greeted by an inviting rustic ambiance, punctuated with unique decor that hints at playful, spooky vibes—quirky skeleton touches interwoven among handmade hats and scarves add a distinct personality that sets Bella’s apart.
For coffee enthusiasts, Bella’s Café is a treasure trove of specialty beverages. Whether you crave the rich sweetness of their Caramel Macchiato, the intriguing notes of the John Wayne, or the decadent layers of the Michigan Mocha, every sip tells a story. The expansive espresso menu features creative concoctions like The Dark Knight and the Frankfort Fall Latte, each expertly crafted to awaken your senses. The popular Latte Flight invites you to journey through a variety of flavors, while the Italian Soda Flight offers a bubbly, refreshing twist for those seeking something different. Fans of iced classics will appreciate the crisp, smooth Iced Coffee, while hot bevs like the Hazelnut Latte and the comforting Hot Chocolate deliver warmth on chilly Michigan days.
The café offers more than just drinks. Their breakfast and lunch menu, featuring indulgent options like the Ham Egg Bagel Breakfast Sandwich and the Turkey Egg & Provolone Bagel, pairs perfectly with a medium coffee or a hot latte to go. Customers frequently praise the thoughtful food choices; Adrienne Jamail’s glowing reflection on the veggie breakfast sandwich highlights the fresh, satisfying flavors that keep guests coming back for more. Elizabeth Peatee also notes the convenient pricing and quality service, underscoring the café’s role as a friendly community hub.
Bella’s Café isn’t just about what’s on the menu. The small gift shop area, filled with carefully curated hand-crafted items and a selection of books, elevates the experience. It’s a place where you can find a meaningful souvenir or lose yourself in a good read. The Little Free Library tucked in the back is a lovely touch that embodies the café’s commitment to community and sharing.
Seating arrangements provide a comfortable space whether you’re diving into work or unwinding with friends — a feature noted by many, including jonmarkheaner, who appreciated the ample seating and overall rustic charm despite finding the skeleton-themed decor not to their taste. Families will also find Bella’s accommodating; Molly Gole highlights the engaging board games that entertained her child, making it a spot that balances fun with great coffee and food.
Above all, what truly sets Bella’s Café apart is the genuine warmth radiating from the staff and the welcoming atmosphere they cultivate. As Tim Zawisza shares, the friendly, knowledgeable baristas make the visit memorable, crafting each espresso with care. While the kitchen occasionally pauses for maintenance, the café’s inviting environment and robust drink offerings consistently deliver an enjoyable experience.
Whether you’re seeking a morning caffeine fix, a nurturing place to write, or a quaint stop to browse local artisan gifts, Bella’s Café provides a unique blend of community-driven charm and elevated coffee culture. If you find yourself in Frankfort, this café is a must-visit — a heartwarming spot that feels like coming home with every cup.
There are a few great coffee shops to choose in Frankfort and we chose Bella’s. Service and coffee bar are both great. Convenient location and great prices. Bella’s has a small gift shop style area that offers a variety of items such as books, hand made hats/scarves, etc. Bella also has a small breakfast and lunch menu which we did not try and a Little Free Library located in the back of the store! We definitely recommend stopping into Bella’s Cafe during your visit to Frankfort!
Amazing coffee shop! Julie has created an amazing vibe and the story on how she started, I could feel her mom is with her! I loved everything about my time there and wish I would’ve found it sooner in my trip! I had amazing flow state while writing my book, also love the Cafe Miel and veggie breakfast sandwich! Can’t say enough good things
They have a good amount of seating. The drinks were pretty solid- got an iced matcha latte and a hot latte. The theme of the decor with skeletons in a number if places wasn’t my cup of tea - but I liked the rustic feel of the rest of it. If you’re in the area definitely give it a try! I’d love to come back and try some of the food options- just know they close the kitchen 1 hour before closing time.
Such a cute and delicious spot. The spooky vibes are on point and the board games kept my 8 year old entertained. This was the best coffee we found in town and the food options were great too.
Glad to talk with the friendly knowledgeable staff. The shop was clean and comfortable with different choices for seating. My espresso was nice. Kitchen down for maintenance at the time. The lost star? The scones use a recipe that is more cake like than scone.
Very cool place. Great vibe. Polite helpful staff. Good food and coffee. Definitely worth checking out.
Great spot for coffee and breakfast sandwiches! I come here a few times every time we are visiting family in the summer. Cozy seating, yummy food, and original drinks. Service is always quick and friendly. Only complaint is the $1.25 upcharge for alternative milks is very steep. I've done some remote work here as well, and the Internet is quick. It's a nice place to hang out or work in.
Such a nice place, great to do some work, and the coffee is delicious! The team is very friendly and I love the quirky decorations of the place :) No vegan food options though, so couldn’t rate that. But a great cafe non the less
